ID Camp

Charleston, SC – February 9, 2016

Global Football School, the first private school in the United States to create an academic and football (soccer) training environment for children in the 4th through 10th grades, is proud to announce six students have been selected by Elite Futsal Charleston for the U.S. Youth Futsal Regional Trials in Charlotte, NC.  The Regional Trials will take place February 20th and 21st, as invited players vie for the opportunity to attend the U.S. Youth Futsal National ID Camp this summer, to compete for selection to one of the U.S. Youth Futsal National Teams.

Representing Global Football School are D’Eric Brown (11), Coby Epstein (14), Jake Hutchins (14), Tyler Layton (12) and Hector Carmona (16).  “It has been a pleasure watching the Global Football School kids develop this fall,” commented Kevin Jackson, founder of Elite Futsal Charleston.  “As a regional and national coach for U.S. Youth Futsal, I know the type of player the scouting staff will be considering at the Regional Trials.  The Global Football School kids exemplify the commitment it takes to excel at the highest level, and I am excited for them to have this opportunity.”

Global Football School kids have been working extremely hard this year, balancing a very strong academic performance with a high level of dedication to improving their game.  “This is a significant achievement for our six kids and Coaches Kenn Schmidt and Jamie McClendon,” said Chuck Dennis, Executive Director of Global Football School.   “Between October and December, the Global Football School kids have logged more than 121 hours of individual training time, which is roughly equal to the total time the average youth soccer player spends with his/her team during the course of an entire season.  This type of recognition is certainly earned, and I am delighted for the students and their families to have this experience with U.S. Youth Futsal.  On behalf of the entire school and staff, we appreciate the consideration Kevin has shown the Global Football School kids.”

U.S. Youth Futsal will be conducting Regional Trials this spring throughout the country.  From each Trial, selected players will be invited to attend the National Camp in Kansas this summer, of which the U.S. Youth Futsal National teams will be determined.
